DESCRIPTION OF WORK:

  • External Repair and Redecoration, Roofing Works and the Replacement of Cold Water Tanks, works commenced 15th July 2008.MADISON DECOR Ltd are delighted to have completed the above project which included surveys, repairs, redecoration, stone cleaning and water tank renewal. During the external decoration both scaffolding and power cradles were used. The roofing works included lead capping to bay roofs, asphalt works, pigeon spikes and solarflec cornices.Due to the prestigious location and challenging environment careful pre-inspection and planning was required to ensure a smooth programme delivery. Our Site Supervisor was responsible for quality control and liaison with residents and porters.

    All works were completed successfully on time with the final account at £158,000, £2,000 under budget.

  • Redecorations to external and communal areas, including associated repairs, roofing remedial works and flooring replacement to various properties owned by Notting Hill Housing Association.On award of this arrangement a number of workshops were held to ensure the smooth running of the project.The workshops established a number of Key Performance Indicator’s by which the project is managed and performance measured. The Key Performance Indicator’s include resident satisfaction, defects, predictability, cost, safety and environmental issues.

    At the beginning of each year MADISON DECOR Ltd work closely with Axis Europe, Notting Hill HA and their consultants, Baily Garner, in carrying out surveys and finalising budgets.

  • The external redecorations and associated repair works to the 15th century half timbered house including outbuildings comprising garden store, garage, stable block and gates.The works required a fully alarmed scaffold to be erected with consideration to the gardens and a colony of bats which had been identified.The works were carried out over a 16 week period during which the property remained open to the public

DESCRIPTION OF WORK:

  • The whole building required the brick and stone work to be repaired and re-pointed. All defective bricks were replaced, all old mortar raked out and re-pointed in lime mortar.The crumbling ballasters were carefully taken out, along with the defective ironwork and replaced with new stainless steel fixings and Stoke Ground ballasters. Cramping of copings with stainless steel fixtures. The chimney pots were replaced and flaunching to the top of the chimney stacks

MADISON were contracted by Sainsbury’s to convert this “Central Store” Format in to their “Convenience Store” Format in as short a time as possible in order to minimise the impact on store trading. The complete refurbishment was delivered in less than 28 days.

The project comprised the fit-out of a 12,000sqft retail park developer’s shell, complete with the creation of external plant space for the refrigeration equipment.

PROJECT DETAIL:
MADISON DÉCOR undertook the dry lining and suspended internal ceilings work, plus the through colour render system to the external blockwork on this development.

Two of the main blocks were set out on a curve, giving the MADISON site team challenges in setting out with very tight tolerances that were successfully achieved.

The curved design of the building produces the tapered shape of many of the apartments and allows more light to enter, creating more welcoming homes.

SOLIHULL RETAIL PARK

Full strip out, extension and re-cladding of existing retail units on the retail park. The work was completed across a number of phases with the retail park remaining live
throughout.
